You've come to the right place. Welcome to MFP. This really works as long as you are totally honest in logging your calories and exercise. It's of benefit to you to log any exercise because you get to eat more!! Lol!. But truly, if you are honest and stick to the numbers MFP gives you each day, this plan WILL work.
We don't have to see your diary, you can keep it private, but if you want advice, then you can show it to us.
Either way, any questions, just ask. My names fionat29, if you want a friend just ask.

I understand your struggles! I'm a chronic snacker (when I'm not thinking about it) and I kind of despise exercise. I'm finding that as hard as it is, you have to break the bad habits and replace them with good ones. Don't try to do them all at once--you'll never be able to keep up with them.
I spent this summer with one goal--be more active. For 12 weeks I took 1 Zumba class and 1 yoga class per week. I figured 2 hours out of my week wouldn't kill me. Now, 12 weeks later, I look forward to my yoga class and am thinking about taking more.
I've also tried to replace one of my less healthy snacks with something like berries or a granola bar. They're sweeter than something like a carrot, so they (often) took care of my sweet cravings.
So far my scale victories are non-existant (booo), but I'm sure that will happen eventually. I'm celebrating my NSV (non-scale victory) of actually looking forward to being active, and LOVING berries!
Good luck--it's a tricky journey, but I know if you focus on adjusting little things, you'll get there!0 -
Hi Kammy, I'm new to this as well. The way you describe your situation reminds me of myself. My advice is , "drastic circumstances, take drastic measures." (in the short run any way) I recently (over the last 6 weeks) lost 10 pounds and continue in the right direction, thankfully IN PART this site is available. I don't know what it will take to make you stop over eating but I can share with you what I did. I made an EXTREME effort to stay on a low calorie meal plan (1500 per day). I was PREPARED to be VERY hungry every day....and I was. I drank LOTS of water and let everyone around me know I was dieting so I could have support. About 3 or 4 weeks into this I believe my stomach shrank as I noticed that I was feeling full after meals. Additionally, my clothes were not feeling so tight. Now I am "in the zone" and actually enjoying this process. I also started exercising (walking) around the neighbor hood as I was doing "NOTHING" prior. GOOD LUCK Kammy.:flowerforyou:0
