I have found that making friends on here is good motivation. Seeing other people's dedication, and reading their daily diaries, and seeing when they work out has really helped me

Hi! I used MFP in 2017 to successfully lose weight. The biggest thing that helped me last time was finding an exercise activity I enjoyed, which made it less of a chore! I chose a group exercise setting which made it more social and more fun for me.

With some life changes, I sort of fell off the healthy habits train and am back here again to hopefully learn some habits that will stick and to get to a weight I feel comfortable in. I found accountability to other people really helped me last time so I want to try out the MFP community! I could definitely use any insight for motivation that others may have as well!

Finding a good support network is extremely important to any success!

Also, finding what works for you and keeps you motivated will help. Or at least it did so for me. I like to mix what I do up a lot, everything from weight lifting, to body weight exercises, calisthenics, aerobic, to plyo workouts. Walking, hiking, biking, swimming, anything that gets you up of the couch and moving is a good thing.

It should go without saying that your diet is important as well. As my H.S. wrestling coach and sensi Mr. Lee use to say, "you can train as much as you want to, but you shall never out train a bad diet."

Just my layman's opinion on the topic, take it for what it is.
