How in the world do you keep your favorite treats in the house ?

You know, I moved to the complete opposite corner of the country to get away from my mother but I never thought of moving to another country to escape Ben & Jerry.
I'm guessing Canada has B & J so that probably wouldn't work. My mother found me, too. .

That's an old joke, but there's a lot of Truth in the answer - practice, man, practice.
Fat Jruzer always ate up whatever was around, and couldn't be trusted if there were large amounts of food, such as leftover food from a potluck, a block of cheddar cheese, Christmas cookies, etc.
But I live in a house with other people who have their own foods that they eat, including cereal, ice cream, and chips, and I work somewhere where there is often a lot of leftover food from catered lunches, or employee parties, or whatever. So part of my education in losing weight, and now in maintaining what I have lost, is learning to live with not eating up all teh foodz. There's no good way around this. I've stumbled and gorged myself more than a few times. My progress, or lack of progress, has been a good teacher.
There's no magic to it - I just have learned to say that I can't have all that I want, whenever I want. I can have all that I want, rarely. I can have whatever I want, in limited quantities. But I can't have both.
Because I don't want to be fat Jruzer again, ever.7 -

I have two kids and a husband who like treats. I quit cold turkey last year. I keep a substitue treat in the house that satisfies my craving (in this case chocolate) but is almost impossible to binge on (its unsweetened). I basically lost the flavor for sweets, and I'm good with that. But it has been years to get to this point and multiple rounds of varying lengths of cold turkey. i am hoping this time works.0

It's the only ice cream I will buy any more at the grocery. I'm trying really hard to not buy stuff with palm oil in it.
Cherry Garcia for the win. I think I even like the FroYo Cherry Garcia better than the ice cream version. And it's expensive in the U.S., too. Around $5 here in Seattle/almost Canada.2 -
I don't keep favourites treats/snacks in the house, I don't do moderation well at all. If I fancy something, I take it to work, I have some of it and share around.

I just tried keeping my favorite in the house and having a little every day with the logic that I wouldn’t feel deprived if I got some each day. Well, it was a catastrophe. At first I practiced portion control but then i came back and started picking at it until I full blown just demolished it. I’m now at maintenance for the day... not a good day. Now I’m tempted to just go eat more. Tl;dr: Maybe I need to give up my favorite dessert.
I found it was easier to stick to portion control when I was getting enough protein. If I'm not, I forage like crazy. I don't know if that's something that you've looked at, but maybe if there's a particular macro that helps keep you satiated long periods of time it might help you stick to portion control with your faves. If that's something you still want to try.2 -

Normally I will fit in my higher calorie treats over the weekend. I'm definitely an all or nothing kinda girl.5 -

I end up getting a particular treat only if it's packaged and sold in a small-enough-for-me serving size (like a small package with two small cookies or chocolate almonds sold at the counter at a Starbucks or Coffee Bean, for example). I won't buy a package with several servings to keep at home.1

In our house, the chocolate is in a lockbox, only my husband has the key. Extreme, yes, but it works.0

If your favorites come in individual serving packages, buy those. More expensive but well worth the extra cost.0

Well, the first bit of advice I can offer is...
Nevermind, I can't keep my favorite treats in the house because I'll eat them all lol. I wait until pre-decided cheat days, and then I will only buy enough to enjoy for that day. No leftovers. Otherwise my cheat day will turn into a cheat week.0 -
I eat treats out..like dessert at dinner or buy a treat and bring it home.. such as a small candy bar or bar of extra dark chocolate ..but I never keep junk food .. chips..sweets..snacking anything in my house. I also love olives and don't keep them either. I could eat a jar no problem. I think that is why I've been successful.0

I don't. I have tried...I have failed. I admit that to myself and eat a piece of fruit instead of Cheezits or Goldfish. Maybe one day...but not today.0
