Bless you, welcome, I hope you are receiving the most appropriate advice and support for you personally, menopause takes us all differently though with some common threads. Wishing you well for everything you wish to achieve here.

I hope you are doing Ok Etz74 UK. I was not given enough information before my total best part of 20 years ago. I went to my doctor with one or two issues to be told, "what do you expect", and that was by a woman!!!! Even with a cancer diagnosis it was the worst thing I did to have both my ovaries removed because they have functions other than just creating eggs. I deeply hope you do not experience any of the symptoms I'd acquired in less than 4 years following. Then treatment/support was not available within the NHS.

Hi All- My mom died when I was in my 20's and I never talked to her about this, so I had no idea what to expect. It's funny how no one really talks about menopause. I've been through it all now, but I recall the hot flashes, mood swings, weird periods that went on for too many days. It was rough for me. Then a year after I was "done" I had post menopausal bleeding and had to have a D&C. Everyone's different, but I find it odd that no one tells you what to expect. It just isn't discussed. Why is that?

Because its a woman thing and you should never talk periods and the like, I remember being told not to say anything because no one else should know, especially males.

Most men I've encountered have no interest in woman things, that our system is different to theirs in that common heart medications make women worse, can even kill and that is if they manage to achieve a diagnosis in the first place, its hormonal.

Women are supposed to menstruate every 28 days and be pain free. We do and are if all our hormones are truly in order but Doctors are not interested in investigating things thoroughly enough. That attitude caused my cancer. (I once had the privilege of meeting an eminent immunologist who told me all my issues were down to the same problem, not being listened to, he was one of the exceptions).

Another mind boggling situation I came across recently is, when Viagra was being tested initially, it seems on women too, it was observed women who regularly experienced pain at menstruation became pain free, this was decided to be too trivial an outcome to follow up on. It is possible for some to obtain it if needed thought.

Hi! I’m looking for a group of supportive menopausal women who understand how frustrating it is trying to lose weight in menopause.

Hi mana2. If you find that group, please let me know. I also have the same struggle with menopausal weight gain. So frustrating.

I’m overly truthful answer men’s to women’s misconceptions. I had a man say child birth to period cramps don’t hurt it’s our cop out. Lol gave a detailed birth stories to him including the 4th degree vaginal tear details to a T he could picture it.Started opening doors for his wife too y taking care of his son while she was pregnant. She figured out why giggled as she passed me.Yes If I had a hot flash he’d run up with ice lol total turn around good thing too his wife had a Csection.

I’m also the type of a guys an *kitten* I announced I was in my period how big the clots were. 🤫🤭😱 Lol next thing I knew they came to me with women questions about their wife’s /daughter/girlfriend female issues. They started being so considerate lol. Especially when one called me a liar so plopped the pad out onto a table. His Daughters get a lot of attention during periods now lol even Ben y Jerry’s ,hot water bottles,y salon the works. Trust me it was a Perimenopause pad so he can just think that’s all Women’s flows. I got no shame I worked men’s jobs lol they sit around talking about jock itch to man issues I can talk about my cramps!
