sugar limits

I realize that I should eat fruit, but it throws my sugar limits straight into the red. So the question is do I just ignore the fruit sugar or seriously try to stay under that limit even with fruit added in. To clarify I only had one medium size apple, I am not talking about sitting around noshing on raisins all day long.

Hello - this is my first post! Woohoo!
I'm having issues with sugar too - my intake is always over what's suggested. And I've been ignoring it up to this week (because I've been good with my calorie count). However - after hearing a TV news story and following up with a bit of google research, I've changed my mind! I'm going to try and steer clear of "Fructose".
"You`ll find fructose in one of its many forms in virtually every type of food which has been manufactured for mass consumption."

I'm just going to have to fiddle with my diet until I can get the calories from sugar down.
Best of luck0
