Hypothyroidism and weight loss

Hello everyone! I've been struggling with hypothyroidism since 2013 and losing weight seems like an uphill battle. I lose 3 pounds, gain 5. Ive heard some say they've had success doing keto/low carb. I cannot seem to stick with it longer than 36 hours. I've just decided that obviously this isn't the lifestyle change for me. So I decided to keep it simple.
I am just tracking calories in/calories out and trying to make better food choices.
I'm just looking for more friends that maybe suffering from the same challenges of hypothyroidism. Some days I feel great and stay on track then others I'm lucky if I can drag my butt out of bed. Feel free to add me if you're looking just to vent about the struggles of hypothyroidism and trying to lose weight or just looking for motivation.

I have not been officially diagnosed but I have a lot of the symptoms. Feel free to add me. I log most days but my weight loss is really slow and up and down....I may get my thyroid checked.0

Hypothyroidism is tough! CICO works for me as long as I walk every day as well!0

I've been on levothyroxine for a couple decades.
I lost weight pretty much right on schedule once I started logging food and exercise on this site. Once your numbers are stable hypothyroid doesn't change things as far as weight and weight loss.
Don't let it become an excuse, because it isn't.2 -
I've been on synthroid for years and some days I still don't have alot of energy. I don't believe it's as easy to balance as just taking one pill a day but having said that I agree with @cmriverside that once you get on track with your CICO you can lose. I managed to lose over 100 lbs by just eating low cal and walking. Don't allow yourself to become convinced it won't work for you because it can if you stick with it. Take your time to lose and eat in a way you can live with for life. Forget about quick weight loss schemes because even if you stick to them long enough to lose you don't learn anything and will regain the weight. Slow and steady wins the race! Good luck.2
