What would they remember about you?

Greetings my friends! So today I needed to post a thinking one to everyone. I didnt want to make it sad because today I am celebrating the life of an amazing woman, but I did want to make one for everyone to think over. What would your friends and family remember about you. Do you carry a smile with you all the time, or maybe the hugs you would give. Maybe its the wisdom you would share, or a fun story you would tell everytime you see them. If you cant think of one thing in your life you would be proud to know people remember you by, then maybe you need to stop and take a look in the mirror. You cant take anything with you, but you can leave behind a legacy. RIP Grandma Alice Jerwers. =0)

Remembering You (Catherine Pulsifer Poem)

If something were to happen to you tomorrow, what would people remember about you?

Would they remember the hours you worked?
Would they remember the material things you own?
Would they remember how much money you had in the bank?
Would they remember the number of vacations you took?

Would they remember the love you showed?
Would they remember your caring and your sharing?
Would they remember the help you gave them?
Would they remember your smile, your laugh?

What will they remember, your actions today will determine what they will remember.

(Catherine Pulsifer)

I hope today is filled with found memories for you!
  • I am so sorry for your loss... I recently lost someone who I was close to as well.. :(

I hope I would be remembered for my kindness, generosity, and sarcastic sense of humor. I haven't any children, but I do have a god-son, niece and nephew whose lives I am very involved in. I hope that if something were to happen to me tomorrow, even as young as these kids are, they'll always remember our favorite conversation:

Me: "Who's got the best niece/nephew/god-son in the world?" (They point to me)
Them: "Who's got the best Sissy in the world?" (I point to them)
Me: "And who gives the best magic hugs in the entire world??"
    Them: "I DO, I DO!!"
Me: "Well, then PROVE IT!!!!" (Gigantic bear hugs all around)

I live for those moments. And I never leave any of those kids without that conversation. It's my way of reminding them that I will always be there for them no matter what and that they are with me.. all I have to do is remember the magic hug.

Sorry for your loss - I lost my father last month so this subject is close to me at the moment.
I like your view of celebrating the life - as opposed to focusing on death. I think I have been doing that a little much in the last month or so (lost my uncle this month also). So I am going to try look at it your way from now on.

Anyways, I think people would remember me from my absolute love and crusading for animals - I think people think I am a little crazy at times as I have zero empathy for most humans. but so, so much for animals. That and my love of travelling. :-)

I just lost a favorite Aunt this week and am remembering her for her love of life! She was just plain "cool".

I believe people would remember me as kind and loving. As someone who smiled almost always. I pray that my love for God would also be something that is apparent enough to be remembered.

The services were great today for my grandma. Lots of tears mostly of happiness that she is in peace now. She endured more than most of us ever could even want to think about. She lost 3 husbands in her life and also laid to rest 6 of her kids. With my dad and his sister being the only ones left. So today they are having one really big family ruinion up there. I could never even fathom the strength that woman had to always still walk with a smile on her face. =0)

~✿~ When we lose someone we love,
    We learn to trust somehow
That a new life in a brighter place
    Is just beginning now..
A place of grace and peace and joy
    Beyond all time and sorrow,
Where loving hearts who part today
    Will meet again tomorrow. ~✿~

Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.
