My wife has stage 4 kidney disease. She must severely limit Potassium AND Phosphorus in here diet. Tyhe problem is nowhere can we find the amount of phosphorus in any food, prepared or natural. Even in lists of kidney diet foods none have lists of Phosphorus AND Potassium free or low amounts.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Paul

Google renal diet, it should list foods to avoid.1

CKD is quite an uphill battle in terms of dietary management...good luck
Check out https://nutritiondata.self.com/ for ball park estimates of phosphorous (potassium & sodium) contents of food1 -
I this is a question for a professional who knows your wife. Can she get a referral to a dietitian?2

Your wife should have a registered dietitian specializing in kidney disease. Call her nephrologist today and get that referral in. Honestly, when I was on dialysis, I ate whatever I could keep down. A lot of low-nutrition convenience foods or porridge and the occasional bowl on lettuce, along with prescribed Ensure bars. I went from "we don't expect your kidneys to fail" to dialysis within months, so I don't remember stage 4 very well, but I imagine it was the stretch when I was having migraines with terrible motion sickness. It's a difficult time, waiting for the inevitable. I really think the dietitian can help make the transition easier. I took a ton phosphate binders on dialysis because I lost so much weight they just wanted me to eat.4

..and, oh. Maybe you were making a suggestion rather than asking what it is. Oh, well.

A question for a professional not God knows who on a message board who does not know your wife's complex medical needs.0

The USDA nutrient database includes phosphorus information for whole foods (standard database).

Hi Paul - another vote for the bolded. Best wishes to your wife!0 -
Does she have a Nephrology team that she works with? there is usually a dietitian on the team. not certain of the the health care system where you live, but she doesn't have a team, maybe try the national kidney foundation. they may be able to help or send some to talk about diet. here is a list of high phosphorous foods. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/foods-high-in-phosphorus0

Yeah, worked with some Registered Dieticians before; they can definitely help you out/be useful in terms of making choices which she will more likely be compliant with. They are very familiar with CKD dietary restrictions0
