Portion control...WATER????

OK, so I've been doing something goofy (whats new, yeah?) Anyways, I've been TRYING to drink my 8 cups of water a day. but ohhh it is soooo friggin hard. So I'm standing in the kitchen trying to force yet ANOTHER glass of H2O down my gullet , basically attempting not to drown myself and gasping for air between gulps when my husband walks in and looks at me like I'm on drugs. I give him "the look"" and proudly (and cockily) inform him that I've only got one more glass to go before I reach my 8 cups a day goal, to which his response was. "Babe. I think you might be over-doing it" and he shook his head and left. Well that bursted my bubble. So I thought on this for a while and decided to measure the anount of water my cup held. And it turns out he was right, 8 CUPS as in 8 OZ is not very difficult. I had been drinking about 192 oz a day, the equivalent of 24 cups. No wonder I felt like a water balloon.:drinker:

I keep a water bottle at my desk (one of those squeezie sport bottles) and try to drink 2-3 bottles a day while at work. After work, I'm usually exercising so drinking water comes naturally during that time!
Another thought - try lemon, orange, or lime slices in your water. It adds nice flavor and makes it more palatable. I used to hate drinking water until I started putting lemons in it. Now I can't get enough, and I buy lemon juice in bottles and put it in water all the time. My husband calls it my lemonade without the sugar. Darn skippy!
A lot of those "water enhancers" (i.e. Mio, Crystal Light) are loaded with artificial sweeteners. Crystal Light Pure is made with stevia, a natural sweetener. Just something to think about.0 -
Oh wow...and here I've been struggling with the 64...be proud of yourself for the focus on getting it in altough it should be much easier now!0

LMAO at you! but i have this SAFETY first cup that my hubby gave me and it is exactly 16 ounces, i sit it on my desk at 6 am when i get here, if i find myself having to go potty, my mind tells my bladder it cannot go until i finish that water. So with that said if i have to go pottty i have to empty those 2 glasses of water and refill it on my way back! needless to say, but the time i get home i have atleast 6 of my 8 cups down by 3. then when i get home i refill my SAHC(stay at home 16 ounce cup) and i have from 3pm-8pm to get that in me! and i have come to know that i dont really drink anything else besides coffee and water! so whenever i eat a meal or want something i get WATER!0

I got the first 3 cups(my cups) down easy, that 9 normal cups, I just think after cup 12, my body was like, really??lol, I put this up so that if anyone else was having trouble, maybe they could step back and see if they were doing the same as me....oh vell!0 -
I bought a water "jug" for about $4 at Walmart... It holds 72 oz... 8 more than the daily requirement. I fill it at night & stick it in the fridge. In the am, I tote it with me throughout the day and just sip on it. That way I am not having to guzzle it! I no longer drink anything but water, so I often grab a bottle ot two at night at well!0
