You can easily make frozen fruits smoothies at home. You need a few ingredients to make this frozen fruits smoothies. But the most important thing you need is good ice crushing blender. Because if you use cheap ice crushing blender, it will not give you smoothe smoothies.

But you can also use a cheap blender, if you are out of your budget.

We have a Ninja. It blends like there's nothing in it. Thing is a tank.

We use almond milk, frozen strawberries and bananas, and broccoli. You can add a surprising amount of broccoli with no impact on flavor.

I don't need ice in my smoothies - with frozen or cold fruit, they are cold enough.

I'm happy using my Cuisinart food processor.

    This.

I stopped adding ice a while ago. Instead I use frozen spinach and kale and then frozen berries. The avocados I add are usually frozen too.

I don't add ice, since I so often use frozen greens and berries, although they are fine even without frozen ingredients if you use chilled ingredients IMO.

I do like using a hardcore blender, since frozen ingredients (which I use other than in summer) can still require it. (Easier for me than a food processor, although of course that would work as well.)

I've never tried frozen avocado, interesting.

My tips for smoothies would be to use some ingredients that include fat, plenty of veg, not just fruit (I'll usually use greens and then some other non starchy veg), and experiment with herbs.

I recently started adding a half of an avocado to my smoothies but the darn things ripen/go bad so fast, so I did some googling and found out you can cut them in half (peeled), and then plastic wrap them/bag them and freeze them for several months. I haven't noticed a taste difference in my smoothies and it's nice to be able to buy them on sale and use them later (Aldi has them for .89 each this week, last week I had to pay $2 for one at Meijer, ouch!).

Interesting, I may experiment with that. I normally buy 2-3 at a time and then use them immediately (1/2 at a time), but freezing would be a bonus since price is so variable.

@zeejane4 Did you know you can buy frozen Avocado too? Eg at Iceland. If you’re putting it in a smoothie that sounds like a perfect solution. It’s pretty cost effective compared to buying the fresh fruits and of course you don’t have the game of ‘guess the ripeness’!

I haven't seen it at my grocery store, but I'm going to be on the lookout for it now, thanks!

I actually just use my food processor because most blenders I've tried don't work for ice. I like to use frozen strawberries with fat free key lime yogurt, ice, and since I'm using the yogurt I just use a little water for the liquid to smooth it out some. It also tastes good to add a little fresh pineapple to the strawberries if I have any.

I don't use ice. I generally include some frozen ingredient(s), e.g., berries, banana, avocado, roasted beets. I mix them with an immersion blender.

My Vitamix has been a game changer for smoothies. I do use ice a lot of the time. I am sure to add the ingredients from liquid/soft/ice on top when blending (as directed) and it works very well. When I had a cheaper regular blender, I still used ice but with more liquid (water or almond milk) when it started to jam up.

I have a Ninja but it's several years old. I've replaced the blade a couple of times. When it goes kaput I think I'll try a Vitamix.

Experiences may vary but I'm very happy with the refurbished one I got on Amazon for like $260. I wasn't ready to spend more than that. I've had it just over 1 year so far, use 3-4 times per week for various things (mostly smoothies & sauces) and really love it, no issues.

Wow, great tip! I love love love perfect avocado, but hate the ‘guess the ripeness’ game.

This blogger didn't like defrosted frozen avocado on toast, but she said it was fine in smoothies.

Apparently Welch's frozen avocado is available in some Targets (but not mine) and will be coming to Walmart soon as well.

Instacart also has an ad for it.

I looked for frozen avocado this weekend and couldn't find any (would be a cost saver, I assume). Didn't think to check Target and no Walmarts near here (which is fine with me, I don't shop there and wouldn't want to even if it were an option), so perhaps I will try Target, which is not normally a place I buy food. Cool idea, but if not, oh well. Non frozen don't break my budget.
