Phentermine & Diet

Recently my doctor put me on phentermine, last time I was on it I remember losing about 40lbs in 3 months and got off it since it's a short term drug. This time around, I've been on it 3 weeks and the scale hasn't budged. I'm eating healthier and starting to exercise, but just wondering if anyone had any helpful tips? I'm curious if being an extra 100lbs than the first time I was on it is a factor? Maybe it takes longer since I'm carrying so much extra weight?

Any advice would be great! Thanks!!

I did not see a result from just phentermine. I did from phentermine and topiramate, but had to quit the new med as I was being impacted by its side effects. Phentermine and topiramate are the meds in the new qysmia med you hear about.

Track your calories and make sure you're eating in a deficit. Which you'll have to do when you come off the meds and want to keep losing anyway. Appetite suppressants are quick fixes, they don't teach you anything about long-term weight loss or maintenance. Especially since its success seems to be linked to exercising and diet in conjunction with the pill.

I've heard from others that subsequent uses of phentermine can be less effective than the first time. Regarding the topiramate mentioned above, it has side effects that many find bothersome enough that they stop taking it.

How many calories are you eating each day? Are you using a food scale?

Phentermine doesn't make you lose weight, it's an appetite suppressant. Appetite is just one part of why, what, and how much we eat though. Are you logging, do you know how many calories you're eating?
