Hey guys! I am a MFP novice, but I am getting married in 2.5 weeks and would like to get toned for the dress, as it is open back. Everything fits so I am not looking for a crash diet for the next 2 weeks, but more-so training tips and motivation to stay of track with calories during the many pre-wedding drinks, dinners and parties.
Are recommendation for back toning exercises? Do I have to cut down on body fat to actually get the muscles to be more defined?
All help is greatly appreciated.

"Toning" usually means building muscle and/or cutting fat. There is very little that you can do to build visible muscle in two weeks. There is also very little you can do in any healthy way to lose noticeable amounts of fat in two weeks. Both muscle building and fat loss are long term endeavors, not something you can do in half a month.
In addition, if you begin or intensify an exercise plan now, you will likely retain a few pounds of water weight for the next few weeks due to the normal muscle repair process.
If you are happy with your weight, then I would recommend eating at maintenance calories and continuing your current exercise plan if you have one. For the future, you can look into recomp, but recomp is a slow process and it will not produce significant results in two weeks.6 -
Thank you for your comment! What does recomp mean?
I currently swim laps a couple times a week and go for hikes. But I did start back/ arms weights last week and I cam already see a difference in my shoulder and upper arms. I was just looking for tips to accelerate the process. More reps? heavier weights?0
