Hello,
My name is Dalal (some call me Dalya for easier pronunciation). I'm turning 28 in two months. I'm from Kuwait (middle east).
I have a very long story with weight loss. I had many issues with hormones and the thyroid gland and my weight was dropping and raising constantly.
In 2012 I weighted 233 lbs. I was done with most of my medication related to the hormone problems, so I started losing weight normally. by 2013 I weighted 145 lbs which was my biggest accomplishment ever and my goal weight. I never weighted less than 175 lbs. I used to range between 175 lbs and 185 lbs before my hormone problems.
last Dec., I was diagnosed with a hyper-active parathyroid gland problem which forced my metabolism system to work really slow. and so I gained weight again and weighted 187 lbs back then. I don't blame it all on the the gland though! Anyway, I got that one fixed as well and started losing weight again.
Now I weigh 176 lbs and I'm currently recovering from a major surgery in the abdomen. I still need a month to fully recover and go back to the gym. I can only walk now as an exercise. So losing weight is more dependent on diet than sport.
I'm looking for some motivation to keep me on track. I don't really have a supportive family here. I would love to see some friend-requests from you guys.
sorry for writing too much.

Well met Dalal! Spent a great deal of time traveling in your area.
I had a total thyroidectomy in 2000 and put on over 75 lbs, since I started logging on MFP I have lost over 50 lbs since last year. There are many of us on here with thyroid issues, but none that can't be overcome.
Best regards to you and yours and here's to a speedy recovery!0 -

Thank you very much. Yeah, I think I'm lucky that I didn't get back to 200s lbs again. I just need to stay concentrate and lose those 30 lbs again

Not to worry friend, you can't outrun a bad diet anyway, so most weight loss is made in the kitchen. Give yourself enough time for healthy recovery after surgery rather than rushing back to the gym, and stick to what works for you. Walking is a good way to exercise, and to explore nature!
Best of luck!
