Mid-Section

I have quite a bit to go on my weight loss journey but about half way there. I am worried about the loose skin. I have been running 3 days a week and on a stationary bike 2 days (total of 5 Cardio). On the days I run I also do some weight machines focusing on lower body and the upper body on the days I do the bike. I do a variation of crunches everyday. Is there anything else someone could recommend to tone up my mid section. That is probably my biggest issue area.

Thank you!

Loose skin kind of depends on genetics. Some people get it, some people do not. You can tone your abdomen underneath your skin all you want, but its not going to have much effect on the skin itself unfortunately. You might see a little more elasticity with your skin this way, but it likely not to the effect that you're hoping.
Wraps and creams don't work so don't waste the money on them. Creams might help a little bit by keeping the skin hydrated and nourished, but again it all boils down to genetics.

I would personally rather be healthy with a little loose skin than be overweight and unhappy with extra fat. But that's just me. There is always the option of surgery if loose skin bothers you that much.

It's just the calorie deficit for the mid section and losing body fat there. I've found that the lower ab area and all around to the back, along with the upper legs, is always the last body fat to go and the first to come back. It doesn't matter what exercises you do.

Exercises do build muscle, help a little with a calorie deficit, and can fill in the loose skin a little.

There are numerous studies about abdominal fat and gut bacteria and health. The calorie deficit still applies, but it helps a bit when you eat as healthy as you can, including probiotic foods, prebiotic, and foods as close to the farm as possible, without too many food additives and added sugar.

    Best of luck to you!

Loose skin is going to vary depending on the individual. I lost a lot of weight and only have a small amount on my lower abdomen. At my leanest it was almost as thin as the skin on the back of my hand. I didn’t have a lot of definition in my stomach, but I contributed it more to lack of muscle mass than the loose skin.
