Looking to buy a food scale. What ones are good that are not too pricey?

This is the one I have and it's great!
Ozeri ZK14-S Pronto Digital Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale, Elegant Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004164SRA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_LHN3Cb52YWHGS3 -
I have the same scale as Christopher and I love it. Multiple units and 1 gram increments. You won't be sorry.3

I literally buy the cheapest one at the grocery store that is digital, has a tare and a few options for measurements. you don't need to overthink this one.4

+1 for the Ozeri. Simple to use, and is more durable than I thought it'd be.2

At the risk of becoming known as "The Pocket Scale Lady," I love my Weight Gram digital pocket scale.

$10.50 on Amazon, and it's lightweight and portable. I also have a digital scale in my kitchen that was the cheapest one they had. Works great. @Panini911 is right; as long as it has the tare function and a couple different units of measurement (grams and ounces being most important), no need to spend extra $.1 -
IMO, not all food scales are created equal. I prefer the ones with the raised weighing platform so I can put a plate on there and still see the numbers. Ozeri looks good, but I use this Nutri Fit one, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077XVZWMZ1

I have one similar to the Ozeri posted above. My main criteria is: raised weighing platform, tare feature, weight in both grams and ounces.1

Ended up ordering this one today. 😀0 -
It has a 2032 lithium watch battery. Most everything I have runs on AAA or AA so I get the Amazon Basic battery at $.25 each. Tou can spend a couple dollars on that watch battery.
You need a back up anyway since these cheapo scales have a life span more like a flashlight than a hammer. Try this one:

I love my OXO food scale. When my first one crapped out after I can't remember how many years, I replaced it with the exact same one.
