MyFitnessPal lowered my calories?

I have been using this app for almost a year and my daily calorie goal has been 1690. I’m nearing my goal weight and wanted to see what kind of deficit I was having at my current weight so I switched the setting from “lose 1.5lbs per week” to “maintain current weight” which tilde me I had a 690 calorie deficit. Problem is when I switched back to “lose 1.5 lbs per week” it now has my goal at 1610 calories! What gives?

As you weight decrease, you need less calories to maintain a loss of 1.5 pounds a week.6

Incidentally, if you're near your goal a 1.5 rate of loss may not be appropriate anymore.0

Did you have a birthday recently? My tracker lowers my budget with each passing year....
I found it easier to just enter my ideal weight and say I wanted to maintain. That way, the weight loss rate just slows down naturally and no surprises when the goal weight is reached, you're already eating properly to maintain that weight.0
