What I’ve Learned After Losing 25 Pounds

Hey all,
So this morning solidified a total 25-pound loss. From 209 to 184. I think I may have been at this weight in the 12th grade?
Here’s a few things I’ve learned on my journey:
•healthy lifestyle changes can be contagious. By improving my health, I’ve encouraged others in my life to make changes and that’s so rewarding.
•healthy lifestyle changes can also be a wedge in a relationship. your friends aren’t always going to understand why you don’t want to over indulge or why you eat SO MANY BRUSSEL SPROUTS. be as patient with them as you are with yourself but if they become toxic maybe some distance is healthiest??
•you CAN actually feel the difference healthy/unhealthy foods have on your body. I’ve had several weeks with a “whatever” attitude where I went back to old habits and those weeks I felt physically disgusting - groggy, heavy, lethargic.
•treats taste SO MUCH BETTER when you’ve been eating right all day/week.
•you gotta reward yourself, you’re doing this for yourself so the person who needs to celebrate most is you!!
•patience is key but also difficult at times!!
•do your best on the days you can and forgive yourself for the days you can’t.
What are some things you’ve learned on your journey??

The scale may not drop but my pants are. I will need a belt.
I don't need to eat "healthy." I eat all the same garbage in smaller amounts and it's fine. I do need more fiber if I'm quitting coffee though.
I know much less about what has carbs than I thought I did.
A small amount of high quality chocolate is almost as satisfying as a large amount of crappy quality chocolate.6 -

Feed your friends brussel sprouts roasted with garlic. If they don't see the light, don't be friends with them anymore.4

I've learned that weight loss is (relatively) easy; it's the maintenance of my goal weight that will be a life-long process of counting calories, weighing/measuring food and tracking macros. If I stop doing any of these I experience calorie creep and can regain 20 pounds in 1-2 years.
Intermittent fasting isn't needed to lose weight. I've lost weight both with and without fasting.
You can lose weight and still be unhealthy. I'd rather lose weight and be fit at the same time.2
