Has anyone been diagnosed with this? Have you been able to reverse it? Any strategies and go to foods?

What instructions did your doctor give you?

Losing weight, if you are overweight, and increasing exercise are in most cases likely to be far more effective strategies to lower blood sugar numbers (a1c) than focusing on specific "go to foods."

I lost 35 lbs using mfp to track calories, and my fbg went from 103 to 77.

I did not use any "go to" foods, nor did I restrict any particular foods--just ate less and exercised more to lose the weight.

Dr sent me to a dietician who among other things pointed me here. Lost weight, cut down on the sugar I was consuming (I was consuming A LOT to be fair). Next blood test I was in the clear.

I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome. I cut back the carbs, lost some weight, and started walking more. Even though I am still over 100lbs over weight, making those small changes and sticking with them dropped my FBG to 84.

My A1C was 5.6; which according to my doctor is pre-diabetic. She told me to lose weight and add exercise to my weekly regime--if I wasn't already exercising. Since that unfortunate blood work, I've lost about 27lbs. I haven't had my A1C retested yet as I haven't been back to the doctor. I need to make an appointment soon.
