Broke my ankle in 3 places. Surgery to reattach tendons and ligaments, 2 plates, 3 screws. On the mend...cast is off....now to get the 30 pounds off.

Congrats on getting to the learning to walk and go downstairs stage of recovery!
I broke my ankle 5 years ago (no surgery needed, thankfully, but had a different set of challenges since we were moving to a new country just 7 weeks after the break). I lived for days in the pool, where I could remove the boot and pretend to walk like a normal person. I also was amused by the simple things I had to relearn, like how to move my leg and bend my ankle to walk gracefully down the stairs (seriously).
I gained 3 kilo--but after 18 months I was right as rain again.
Enjoy the rehab.0
