Weird thigh muscle

Hi,
I have been doing Chalean Extreme and Insanity hybrid (alternating 3 exercise per program, 6 days a week) I noticed that I have developed a protruding upper thigh muscle - a look which I’m not fond of. What is this muscle called and what type of exercises work it? I’m trying to find out if I’m doing any of the exercises incorrectly (particularly from Chalean Extreme) that’s causing me to over rely/develop this muscle.
Thanks in advance!

Well. To be quite honest, that's just what developed quads end up looking like. If you're fit on some level, you'll end up with a slight protrusion there regardless of whether you like it or try to achieve it or not.
If you want it to go away, stop training legs. That's a bad idea though because you're setting yourself up for injury that way. And its likely impossible anyway because we use our legs for SOOO many things.
My best advice is just learn to accept it and embrace it. That's probably not the answer you're looking for, but it can't really be helped.10 -
That quad means your workouts are working. As said, enjoy it. Strong, defined legs are a plus in almost anyone's book

Normal human anatomy. Google really is your friend sometimes.

Everyone tends to have one leg more dominant than the other. Just keep it going!

You have strong legs! I used to worry about that too, but honestly, I've heard men say it's attractive to see definition on women's legs, so don't be too worried about it

Thanks for the replies! Sorry for the noob question but having defined muscles is quite new to me! Glad to know that it’s normal. Will keep going at it since I love the gain in strength (makes daily functional tasks so much easier!)6

As you progress you'll begin to notice more balance throughout your body depending on your routine, aesthetically speaking.
Quite a few folks here have snapshots of themselves as their avatars and you'll see slim and muscular to just slim to larger/more muscular and everything in between - keep asking the questions, most here are happy to lend advice/what they did to get where they are.
It's a great feeling. Enjoy
