Help!! I’ve gained on my first week 😢

Hi everyone
I’ve had this app for the past week and was so determined to lose at least 1 lb but instead I’ve put 2lb on!! I’m gutted.
I’ve been under my total (1400 cal) every day and I’ve still put on. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong - please help 😩😩

2lbs can easily be a fluctuation. Could just be a general fluctuation, sodium, water weight from new exercise, anything. Give it about 4-6 weeks of consistently weighing your food and see how things are.

    1. Your body weight fluctuates a lot naturally due to water, weight in the system, periods (if you have a uterus). This is why people on here tend to use trend apps like Libra.
    2. If you just started a new exercise regime, your body often holds onto water.
    3. Are you weighing all your food with a food scale to make sure you are accurately logging? Sometimes people eat a lot more than they think if they're just eyeballing or using measuring cups.
    4. It's only been a week. Patience. Weight loss is not linear even if you follow the calories perfectly. Start thinking in terms of weeks/months, not days.

**hugs** - I know that seeing the numbers on the scale go up was disappointing.
I weigh myself daily. Those daily numbers rise and fall (and even though logically I know every weigh-in can't always be a drop, I still feel the slight twinge of sadness when they go up). Please don't give up - I'm not sure what you were doing before this week, but if you have greatly reduced your calories and possibly increased your water, your body is confused and hasn't gotten the message that its weight-loss time. Give it at least another consistent week and see where things are at for you. 💜

I weigh daily too and agree with others about it probably just being weight fluctuation as you'd have to eat 7000 calories to have gained that in fat! If it helps, I was 139.6 Saturday, 141 Sunday, and 138.8 today. The scale bounces around naturally. You may want to get a weight trending app (I use Libra) to track your weigh ins, it'll show the trend over time. Good luck!
