Weighing less in the evening

Hi guys
Does anyone else weigh more in the mornings? I can weigh a good few pounds lighter in the evenings than I do in the morning after my first wee! Anyone know what this means?

Possibly water retention? I have fibromyalgia and I’m super stiff in the mornings could this have something to do with it?1

It's no big deal, well within the range of normal. It's not that unusual for me to weigh less in the late afternoon than I did first thing in the morning. It's all a function of timing of eating, elimination (urine & feces), exercise, sweating for non-exercise reasons, exhalation (which sheds water like sweating does, just in vapor form), and more. (Exhalation is how something like 80% of lost fat leaves the body, by the way, in the form of carbon dioxide ).
I don't have fibromyalgia or any significant chronic health condition (well, hypothyroidism, but that's medicated to the point where my body behaves like anyone else's).
Many of us recommend weighing first thing in the morning because that's likely to create the most consistent conditions, so give you relatively more comparable day to day weights (though nothing is perfect ). It may or may not give you your lowest weight of the day. That's pretty individual.
But why care? Weight fluctuations within a day, and even across a small number of days, are more about water weight changes, and changes in the digestive system contents in transit (full transit can take 50+ hours!). Both of those kinds of variation are part of a how a healthy body functions, and neither of them are fat.
Fat loss is what most of us really care about, isn't it? That shows up clearly via a scale-weight trend over a period of more like weeks to months. In the short run, what's happening with fat weight can be obscured by those other factors.2 -

I assume you drink or eat something in between the evening weigh in and the morning weigh in? If not that would be a bit weird because where did the weight come from? But if yes, then it's not weird at all. I tend to weigh the least when I get home in the evenings after exercise because of water loss. Then I drink and eat and usually add several pounds, which then is lower in the morning but still more usually than the evening before.
This is all about long term trends, so whenever you weigh yourself doesn't really matter as your results will be visible over the long term.1 -

Right so.....I think it’s my scales! They are in the bathroom. When I weigh myself in the morning it’s pretty chilly in there...I’m 2lbs heavier! If I weigh myself when the scales aren’t as cold I’m 2lbs lighter. Reading up apparently digital scales get temperature sensitive 🙄🤦🏽♀️ soooo I’m going to try and leave them in my bedroom then move them to a hard floor to weigh myself, we shall see the results 🤷🏽♀️1
