I recently started on myfitnesspal and I love that it is so easy to find the foods I eat and how it keeps me motivated throughout the day to eat better. However I noticed according to this website if you do strength training you do not burn calories...odd to me....I have been doing Crossfit workouts for about a year now and I try to put my exercises in and none of the exercises are in here, I.E. burpees, box jumps, hang cleans, rope climbs etc...does anyone else do Crossfit and have you been able to find these workouts in the data base? And why does this database not allow you to burn calories after a day of strength training?

You enter it as cardio and then you can put your reps in the strength training area.

I don't have an answer to your question, but would like to ask you about crossfit. I am planning start at a crossfit gym next month. If you've been doing it for a year you must like it? (I have also tried to enter kettle bell exercises into exercise section--no luck).
  • There is an exercise for "weight lifting" and other things... scroll through what's available and you should find something that will work.

I've found some similar cardio exercises in MFP = "strength training" and "circuit training" (which may be similar to crossfit, I don't know).

Anyway, the good news is that you can enter the exercise yourself and customize your exercise calories in the same way that you do food. Just look up how many calories you burn doing crossfit (on some other website) and then enter it into MFP. You only have to do that once and then it will be in there.
