Feeling stuffed

I am noticing that less food leaves me feeling quite stuffed these days! To help control my portion size some weeks back I chose smaller plates and bowls. This along side counting my calories has resulted in a total weight loss of 24lb....Phew I am pleased. But, because I seem to get full quicker I find myself often having calories left. When this happened in the begining I just had nibbles in the evening, mostly healthy ones of course. Now though I find I have got out of the evening snack routine. Question is how do I tackle this to ensure I dont go under calories as often as I seem to be doing.
Question here also has any one else had this happen and how did they cope?
Regards Cherry

Start adding some more calorie dense foods into your diet like nuts. You don't need to eat a lot of them to get a calorie boost.0

Seeing that you've got portion control down to a science, you can now utilize that to your advantage with more calorie dense foods. Nuts and beef are pretty heavy...in calories.0

Nuts are quite high calories and high in protein, I'm sure even a handful could put you up a good hundred or more cals?0

I have the same problem. I get full off of small meals, but when I do eat a lot, I'm so full I feel like I've gained, even though I haven't.. You should definitely try to increase your portions little by little to meet your calorie needs. If you don't, you're body will probably go into starvation mode, and you may even gain some back.
We don't want that!
I hope someone else has some better advice than me! This didn't help that much, but I know what you are going through!0 -

Anubis is correct. Nuts and beef, depending on how much you can take at a time, can be great for increasing caloric intake. Nuts, nut butter, and thick, girthy beef sticks can provide additional protein to your diet.0 -
Hi,
I would not worry unless you start to hit a plateau. If you are not feeling hungry, and you are eating good food that is healthy and natural. I think that you should listen to your body, if you are hungry, eat, if not, and you have eaten at least 1,200 calories then don't worry about it.
I get full faster now also, and on most days, i am between 150-300 calories under (on workout days). And I am not suffering or starving, and fell full. I think it is because I have been eating clean. But, last night I was beyond hungry, and it was a very light workout day, so I went over on calories. But, I felt full. I needed the extra calories. Today, I am getting full very quickly and I know there is no way I will be able to eat all the calories I am supposed to. As long as the scale keeps moving, I will be listening to my body.0 -
Thank you folks for that advice, nuts seems a good plan as easy to add a few to salads. And indeed some beef would make a real change as I have had lots of chicken and turkey. Luckily I have not reached a plateau yet and the weight has been coming off at a pleasing speed. Tuesday I go on holiday and guess its going to be a whole new ball game....I hope daily swims and extra walking will help burn off any misdemeanors I know I shall have with alcohol, my calorie counts are getting pretty accurate and I feel I can cope with hotel food. We shall see lol, x0
