Hi, I’m finally getting myself together and intending to get back in shape. I gained way too much weight while I was travelling and living overseas as well and going through some personal stuff (and also just pure laziness and an addiction to pasta, pesto and sourdough bread).
I’m vegetarian and planning to eat a sort of lower carb, Mediterranean style diet while incorporating intermittent fasting. I naturally eat 16:8 so that won’t work, I’m currently thinking alternate day fasting...
Would love to meet anyone with a similar diet or just anyone nice

Hello! I have tried this kind of diet but it doesn't work for me:( I'm also vegetarian and now I'm looking for something that will help me to get fit. I don't have any idea if I did everything right. Probably, I should have combined lower carb diet with workouts...but I actually didn't do it. Please, let me know if it works for you and tell me what type of workouts you use. Maybe, I come back to this kind of diet but this time is right.0

I come in and out of My Fitness Pal, and have been doing Spinning since Jan and weights since April. Have stalled on weight loss but am gaining strength and muscle definition. To combat the weight loss stall, I started Intermittent Fasting this past Monday. I'm doing 20 & 4. My only immediate problem is getting enough calories in the 4 hrs of feeding. I eat til I'm stuffed but MY Fitness Pal says I'm not eating enough calories. It looks and feels like more than 1700 cals but the database says no. It is really noticible on my workout days when I burn between 400-600. I lost a couple this first week and am optimistic. I really just want to shed some belly and love handles. I don't need to lose more than 10 pounds. I like the idea of metabolic improvement and autophagy as a way to head off senior issues.
I could do this routine while standing on my head. It will be nice going to 50 yr high school reunion at my graduation weight.
Let me know how you are progressing and any difficulties you face (other than being a vegetarian and having trouble getting enough protein). I am on a sabbatical from breads, crackers, chips, cookies and sugar. I think I have will power. Others call me stubborn.
Best of luck,
Jack0
