Feel free to friend me! I started with about 63 to lose, now down to needing to lose about 35. And I'm definitely in my 40's!2

Oh, and I started this journey in 2013. Which is nuts, when I think about it. So many stops and starts!2

Feel free to add me. I'm 47 years old, and eat 1250-1300 calories per day. I started in September of 2018 with 50 pounds to lose. I've lost 35.4

I am going to be really controversial - this isn't as much pain as you think. All the talk of blood, sweat and tears - well that's one way. Actually just choosing not to eat junk is really easy. Avoiding the situations that put junk in front of you, tempting you, pulling you over to the fat side, not always easy. Find the triggers (mine is my family) and avoid them or reduce their impact.
Of course it depends on your goal, you want to run marathons then pain and suffering will be needed, if you just want to control your weight and be healthier, that is a change of the mind. I am demonstrative proof that if you are over weight and want to lose weight you can, I am equally demonstrative proof that if you stop paying attention and start succumbing to temptation then you will just put that weight back on again.
There is, of course, effort required. In my humble opinion there are two enemies to overcome, firstly time - you need to dedicate more time to you, to shopping, to food prep, and to exercise (dependent on your goal). The second is you - do you really want this, or do you want something else more? Are you trying to have your cake and eat it? No preaching, each person should be happy in their choice of lifestyle though if losing weight is truly important know that you will. Now can someone tell me how to keep it off?5 -
Oh my goodness yes!0

I don’t want to just Diet. I do not want to be flabby. My biggest fear is getting bat wings - personally id rather be a little overweight. I need something that is going to push me to my limit - that is my nature - unfortunately I must keep all sweets out of my home. I wish I had the willpower - but I don’t.0

It’s a lifestyle change - and we have to accept it. That’s the only way to keep it off. 🤷🏻♀️2

It’s not willpower, it’s discipline. There is a reason Nike’s slogan is “just do it”, because at the end of the day that’s what you have to do. Eat right, workout, keep picking yourself up and carry on. There’s not magic just grim determination and discipline3

46 y/o man here, started at 315, down to 280, another 80 or so to go. What is working for me is planning ahead. I figure out what I will eat everyday. The things I can make ahead and then nuke, I do. The stuff I have to prepare the same day, I portion out the ingredients. IT IS NOT EASY! There are days when I want to say "*kitten* it' and order a pizza. Then I look back at my MFP log and see how my weight went up for the week after I did the last time.
