Hey guys. I’m Holli!
I weighed myself at Walmart this morning.
I’m obese.
Wow.
I can’t even believe I’ve let myself get this way.
I struggle with emotional eating.
When I’m stressed, I eat.
When I’m happy, I wanna eat.
I crave food constantly, it makes me feel good.
I’m just in shock that I weigh this much at just 5’7”.
I’m headed to medical school in the future and I just want to be a good example to my future patients.
I’m discouraged and encouraged at the same time.
Discouraged that I am so overweight.
But encouraged that I’m here on MFP and changing my life!

You've done the hardest thing. You've acknowledged your weight and why you gained. Not to mention that you are here! Bravo!0 -

You can do it! Remember, while the number you see there is a part of your story, it isn't the whole story. This will be a long journey with good days and bad, but it will be worth it!
Make good use of the diary! It does all the calculation work for you based on your goals! I do suggest you purchase a food scale and make it your best friend. It's a hassle at first but it's truly an eye opener. Weigh EVERYTHING that can be weighed, don't rely on measuring cups/spoons/supplied scoops.
All the best!3 -
the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. someone wise said that
I was overwhelmed when I looked at how far I was from my goal, but when I broke it down into small steps of mini goals and focused on doing my best with each day, I saw results faster than I anticipated because changing my focus defused the crushing discouragement that had prevented me moving forward for so long. Also I prayed for God to help me and he has
Wishing you freedom and success! xo1 -
