Starting Lent With a New Attitude!

Hi everyone,
My name is Donna, and I am new to this board, but definitely not new to dieting. I've decided to use Lent as a jumping board for trying to get healthy and lose weight. Figured that if I had more energy & health, I could be a better mom, wife and friend. Have a better attitude about things.
I work in a parish outreach, and see so many people who are fed up with life. My job is to be cheerful & encouraging. It's hard to do when you don't feel good about yourself. Being healthy & caring about the body that God gave us is a very important thing. It's as they say - that if you don't love yourself, how can you truly show love to others? How can you receive love?
Sorry about that - didn't mean to come off so mushy / emotional. This site looks great. I look forward to the journey ahead.
