So I've been doing MFP for five days now, I was just wondering if you guys could tell me if I'm going wrong anywhere or where I could improve in your opinion? My diary should be viewable, please ignore my obvious mistake on my first day, totally messed that up with my measurements :(

Looking good. Congrats on 5 days done!

How are you feeling, motivation-wise, hunger-wise, energy-wise? Are you psyched?

Nice logging - it looks like you are tracking everything which is great.

Personally I had a bit of an addiction to fizzy drinks and would drink at least a couple a day. But for this to work, you really need to improve on your water consumption (and I'm talking straight cups of water, not whatever water is in anything fizzy) They recommend a minimum of 8 cups but personally I think you need to get into double digits with your water. This was really hard for me to start with, it felt like all I did all day was drink water and constantly pee! But your body gets used to it after time. I was terrible with drinking before and most days went all day without a drink and then was really thirsty by the evening. Now I make sure I aim for 3 around each meal time (1-2 before eating) and that takes you to 9 for the day just doing that. Then you could treat yourself to the fizz if you've mastered your water for the day.

Well done starting this journey and I wish you all the best for the future :-)

You seem to be doing just fine. You may want to add sodium to your food diary - just so you can see how much of it you are consuming. Some people are highly sensitive to sodium and need to watch how much of it they are getting each day. Other people aren't affected by it (I am one of these people) and it won't affect their weight loss. It's just something to keep in mind. :) Make sure you're drinking enough water.

And ultimately, aim to get your calorie goal as close to zero each day as you can. :)

    You're doing great! Good Luck!
  • Thanks guys, it's reassuring to know that you think I'm doing okay. I'm finding it pretty easy so far and haven't found myself being extra tired, in fact I feel as if I have more energy!

Think I'll drink a lot of water today.....

    Slinkybaz....

Can you provide some insight into why one must drink that much water? While I believe in drinking 8-9 glasses a day, I don't see how going into the double digits is necessary?
