its bs..plain and simple.
adjust your calories and change up your workouts..try more intense workouts
ps..there is no such thing as starvation mode..its a myth that needs to be squashed. there is NO scientific proof of this. you body does NOT can can not hold onto calories or store them for later use..i mean how does that make any sense? later use when? seriously..when does it decide to use the fat stores? ugh..your body doesnt store calories as fat because you dont eat enough.that is ridiculous. so tired of this myth
ummm actually you are getting a couple of things mixed up here. You are right in saying that starvation mode does not cause your body to store calories for later but it does cause your metabolism to slow down.0 -

ummm actually you are getting a couple of things mixed up here. You are right in saying that starvation mode does not cause your body to store calories for later but it does cause your metabolism to slow down.
It doesn't slow down until a prolonged period without food - at least a day. And even then it's a minute degree. And in the meantime low blood sugar will cause glucagon to kick in to burn your existing stores of fat for energy. Doesn't sound that bad to me but it's not for everyone I guess.0 -

Firstly, you have done a phenomenal job on your weight loss. Congratulations!
Secondly, my rule is I generally don't listen to either one, and go with your gut instincts. I've had enough experience with both to know that neither of them spend enough time with you to really be able to assess YOU. Each person is different and requires a specialized weight loss plan, or in general health.
Personally, I think that there is always room for improvement. You may or may not lose any more weight, but you can always increase your muscle mass and lose fat. I would add in some generous strength training (if you haven't already), throw out the scale, and measure your progress by how you look, feel, and perform. Nothing is a better motivator than being able to drop a size in clothing even when you haven't lost a single pound.

I would listen to your doctor. I don't really know why but I think our bodies reach certain weights that they are comfortable with and you just have to work a little harder to break through to your next "set point." I fully expect to hit a plateau at 155 and again at 136 (although I may just stay there) because those are weights my body has settled into before. It may take some time, but I fully believe you can lose more.0

I'm going to have to go with doctor on this one. Those dietitians were rubbish. I'm shocked they would say that. Maybe 3rd time's a charm?

Believe in yourself.
Whether or not you continue to lose weight, it certainly can't hurt to try! Continue eating healthy and working out and see what happens. I'm sure if you made it this far, you can continue to lose the next 50, but it might take a little longer than expected. Don't let it get you down. Keep up the good work!0
