Hi everyone,

Can I ask how these daily goals are created?

First day today and I have ended 6g over my 70g “fat goal” which is making me wonder how that goal came to be set?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Lynne

The MFP default is 50% of your calories from carbs, 20% from protein, and 30% from fats.

OP ^ these are just the MFP defaults.
    • People doing keto might set themselves at 5% carbs, 20% or so protein, and the rest from fat.
    • Vegans might set themselves at 60% plus carbs.

While macros are important for some medical conditions, and for satiety (which varies for individuals), what is important for weight loss is calories.

I look at my protein as a minimum target to hit, I never have problems getting enough fat, and let my carbs fall where they may.

It did bug me out when I first started always being over on fat, but then I realized it didn't matter for weight loss as long as I was in a calorie deficit, so stopped noticing that that number was always red.
