I doubt this but have been questioned by a friend on here I now am seeking advice on this matter... I have a very active job like I don't stop moving until I take a break or I go home. Well some days I struggle to eat the calories I'm supposed to eat to just sustain regular activity and said friend is asking if I'm eating any of the burned off extra calories. I'm just concerned that I'm doing something wrong and going to harm my body and screw up my health up. Help!

are you currently loosing weight? or maintaining? and what is your goal?

if you do need to eat more calories, look at this thread with a list of calorie dense foods/meals. these allow you to get more calories without eating MORE in quantity. Also avoid anything low fat - go for full fat milk, yogurt, cheese, etc.

Trying to lose. I have my goal set at a half pound a week but I eat at about a pound to a pound and a half lose most days. I'm eating at least 1500 a day so it's not scary low.

Sweetie, you have a lot of weight to lose. You could eat probably around 1800-2600 per day and still lose 2-4 pounds per week.

My best suggestion would be to set your GOALS here to "Lose 2 pounds per week." Set your Activity Level to "Active" (or whatever you feel best reflects your daily job.) You said (I think it was you in another thread) that you aren't doing a lot of purposeful exercise because it's hard for you. That is absolutely fine at this point. Don't worry about exercise calories right now. That will become much more important when you are within 50 pounds of your healthy weight. So I wouldn't get into any arguments or discussions about exercise calories or activity calories etc. with people at all.

Right now - focus on your food logging and learning about good nutrition. Try to eat to your Protein goals. That's it. Drink a lot of water and try to get eight hours of sleep.

And my most important weight-loss tip? Don't talk about it to people. You'll get yourself so confused. Save yourself the aggravation. :)

As you start accumulating your own FOOD page data combined with your actual weight loss you will then be empowered to make decisions for yourself about your progress and what you need to do. For now, just use the numbers this site gives you and track your food as accurately as you can.

That's it. Here's a couple threads about logging food. Put all your worries there. :)

Thank you! You are so right and thanks for the links to hose will help me a lot so I can take my healthy lifestyle to the next level!

    All the above ;)

I'd concentrate on logging accurately and tracking REAL life rate of loss over 4-6 weeks. if that rate off loss is too fast then you can worry about bumping up calories. But start with accurate weighing and logging food for now.

    Good luck :)
