Fitbit steps vs calories

I have my Fitbit Inspire HR synced to MFP. Can anyone explain why my exercise for today in my diary shows 5031 steps but only 13 calories burned? So confused.

What's your activity level?1

I think it is because they just count the difference between they (MFP) calories they estimate and the calories your device says you burn.1

My fitness level is light activity. I have been doing about 5000 steps a day during this heatwave. Hope to double that soon.0

Fitbit already expects a "lightly active" person to get roughly 5,000 steps per day. So that's why you haven't earned any extra calories. You've just kind of crossed the threshold into what you should be doing. Keep going.
Just a heads up... If you have negative calories turned on, it will also take away calories on days when you are less active. Have a travel day where you spend 9 hours in a car or have an injury that lands you on the couch - it will take away 100-200 calories bc you haven't been as active as it expects a "lightly active" person to be.5 -
Thanks, #Tara4boys. That makes a lot of sense. Thought I was getting cheated, but now I understand. Heading for the treadmill now...0
