:flowerforyou: Welcome to MFP!! Be sure to Log On every Day, Track EVERYTHING that you eat, and do some kind of Exercise/Activity every day. Don't expect to be perfect or to eat "Right" every day. Just try to do it MOST of the time.

Just be consistent. Log on everyday, log everything you eat and if you are a beginner at exercise, just take baby steps. Start out walking and before you know it you will be running:) I was a total couch potato when I started and now I'm an exercise junkie!! Oh and drink your water for sure and cut out sugary drinks, keep your sodium low and your energy high:) Good luck to you.0

Log in as often as you can. Track everything & log it -- even the 1/2 of the cookie. I can see you are the same age as I am. The weight does not just drop off anymore...at least that is what I am experiencing. This site is very helpful in figuring calorie counts & I love the fact that you can type in recipes and the stats will be figured out for you. Encourage someone you know to join -- knowing they will be able to view your posts will help -- well, it helps me anyway.0

If you're looking for a boost in your inspiration, read the success stories forum - it always fires me back up.
Get rid of the junk food - banish it from the house.
Get some MFP friends who are doing well and get ideas and inspiration from their diaries and blogs. You will get back what you give in this arena, so be as supportive of their efforts as you can, while still being honest.
Look for ways to improve your diet as you go along. For example, I started by just watching the calories, progressed to paying attention to the Carb/Fat/Protein balance, and now make sure I get adequate Calcium, Potassium and Iron each day too. I'm working on reducing the amount of processed food etc.
Pay attention to what you're doing and the discussions in the forums. If you have a question about something, try searching the forums for past threads to educate yourself before asking a question that has been discussed a thousand times already.
If there is a party or event coming up, figure out a strategy ahead of time. If the strategy is to relax and enjoy yourself, you won't feel like a failure because you PLANNED it. Other strategies are to allow a small treat, eat smaller meals the rest of the day, do some extra exercise to allow yourself more calories etc.
If you do blow it, DON'T let that derail you. It's just one day, and one day isn't going to make or break you. Let each day be a clean slate.
Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like.0
