Struggling with cold!

So I’m 2 pounds off my goal weight and I’ve just come down with a stinking cold. I’ve got a runny nose and feel pretty ropey. The last thing I feel like doing is sticking to my 1200 calories but am worried that if I give myself permission to have a break I will end up just putting on weight and getting further away from my goal which is nearly in sight! I know if I end up binging I will feel awful but I feel like eating rubbish and I’ve already eaten all my snacks today and only have my dinner left to go. Do I just try to stick to 1200 still or should I set my goal to maintain temporarily? I’m not sure what to do for the best! Thanks

Maintenance calories when sick. Your body needs that to recover. You'll likely be up a couple pounds just from the inflammation due to the virus anyway.

Get back at it in a week or two. Two pounds are really meaningless in the scheme of things.

    Feel better :flowerforyou:

Thank you! I just needed a bit of advice from someone thinking straight as I’m not as I think it’s become a bit of an obsession! That’s a big help thank you, sounds sensible! 😊

I agree with going into maintenance until you're body is doing better, you can use the nourishment.

Thanks making me feel better that I can stay in control (and not full out binge!) by just upping my calories to maintenance until I’m feeling better

homemade chicken soup is known to help cure a cold and it is very low calorie.
