My fitness pal gave me 1982 for calories but noticed it’s default is at 50% carbs. That’s 240somethung in carbs. What do you guys use to play around with macros? I know... calories are calories but that ratio is a shock to me.

i left them as they were and lost the weight. i really ignore them other than ensuring i get the minimum amount of protein.
weight loss is about calories.
macros help for overall health and feeling full. some feel full with more carbs, others more protein, others more fat. so their work the macros as per what works for them.5 -
They are set that way since it's a recommendation for healthy people.
Set them however you like.

I left mine 50 30 20, but I am usually over on fats and under on carbs, that's just the way I like to eat. It's hard enough for me to hit that 20% Protein.3 -
i eat 340-440g of carbs a day and maintaining weight stable (my goal) - there is nothing wrong with carbs, its just that they have been demonized in the recent past (same as fat in the 80's)2

I make sure I get enough protein and fats. I do not pay much attention carbs.2

Why is the ratio a shock to you? You don't need to worry about carbs unless your doctor specifically told you to limit them in order to treat a medical condition.4
