My fitness pal gave me 1982 for calories but noticed it’s default is at 50% carbs. That’s 240somethung in carbs. What do you guys use to play around with macros? I know... calories are calories but that ratio is a shock to me.

    They are set that way since it's a recommendation for healthy people.

    Set them however you like.

    Many people like 40C 30F 30P

    I left mine 50 30 20, but I am usually over on fats and under on carbs, that's just the way I like to eat. It's hard enough for me to hit that 20% Protein.

    i eat 340-440g of carbs a day and maintaining weight stable (my goal) - there is nothing wrong with carbs, its just that they have been demonized in the recent past (same as fat in the 80's)

    I make sure I get enough protein and fats. I do not pay much attention carbs.

    Why is the ratio a shock to you? You don't need to worry about carbs unless your doctor specifically told you to limit them in order to treat a medical condition.
