its probably has something with glucose spikes in blood after carbs/sugar, and insulin.5

No. I've tried that a couple times, but it never worked for me. That idea that if you don't eat sugar for a week, a month, whatever--you won't want it anymore? Nope. I will always want the cupcake.5

Yes. When I reduce my sugar/carb intake I don’t get cravings.1

My appetite died after stopping sugar abruptly. Unfortunately it came back about 2 1/2 weeks later, but it was bliss while it lasted.1

The longer I go without added sugar, the more off putting sugar is. If I buy chocolate it has to be really good quality, and I can keep it at work and just eat one square a day.3

The 90% - 100% chocolate is the best for me.2 -
I'm currently reading The Hungry Brain by Stephan Guyenet. It talks about why we eat too much now and the role the food industry has to play in that. It's basically combinations of highly palatable foods such as sugars and starches. I do a 24 hour fast once a month for the health benefits and I find that if I fast after a high carb phase of my nutrition programme I start to feel hungry much sooner than if I fast after a low carb phase. Remember there are also other stress triggers that will cause hunger and cravings, but if eliminating high added sugar foods works for you then stick with it.6

when I cut sugar I get really crabby and mean for like a week. I still do it but try to take a moment before I let something at work or home rile me up lol. It's still difficult for me to resist sweets.0

Not for me.
It doesn't matter what I eat or don't eat. It doesn't matter how much or how little I eat. Hungry is my normal state unless I have eaten in the past 1- 1.5 hours.
The only way I have ever been able to lose weight or maintain weight loss is to live the mantra "embrace the hunger".
I am glad this isn't true for everyone!3 -
Absolutely. I have always had massive, nagging food cravings all my life and I never knew why. It has ruined every diet I have ever tried and at my heaviest I was over 500 lbs. I was able to lose some weight over the past few years since then but it has been in a yo-yo fashion where I would lose some and gain some and it ha been a real struggle. But ever since I realised that sugar was my problem, it has been a lot easier. I have had almost no added sugar (and I watch my natural sugars as well, like fruit juice and dried fruit since the sugar is still highly concentrated and can be a problem for me) since January and I have lost just about 80 lbs now that the cravings are so greatly reduced.5

Not at all for me. The opposite is true for me. The less 'added' sugar I eat, the more I want it. I've found balance with allowing myself sweets in moderation.1

It's true for me. The only way I can lose weight is to "stay hungry"3
