Exercise tracking

I don’t keep my IPhone on me when I complete exercise but I do use it to log my steps as I walk over 15,000 steps most days. MyFitnessPal doesn’t account for the calories burned during my exercise as it assumes it is already tracked with my iPhone and doesn’t want to double count.
How do I adjust settings so that it accounts for my exercise as well as the steps logged from iPhone as they are both separate?

My strength exercises, 3 x a week, don't even count. Cardio counts.

It’s been Cardio exercise I’ve been completing separately from my iPhone steps. I do classes like aerobics etc, and home workouts.

Just log it separately. Go to the exercise tab and log just like you do with your food.

Yes I do log it separately but it then assumes that workout is part of the iPhone steps that are automatically tracked and adjusts the calories earned from them to less to avoid giving you double calorie allowance for the same exercise.

I have the same question. My watch syncs with the iPhone but does not import into MyFitnessPal. I have to manually enter it, which is counter intuitive...there has to be an automatic import one would think. If importing is truly not a feature, that is an obvious miss or there is a technical challenge they cannot overcome. It has me looking into other applications for tracking diet/exercise.
