So I read online that you should always use a lubricant when installing the screws/bolts for the SPD cleats... didn't have any WD40 so used cooking oil.... hope that's ok.

    Lube is DEFINITELY not lube. WD40 instead of KY?? BAD idea.

    I"m only moderately mechanically inclined ...so I was just following suggestions on youtube

    Hubby thought it was ok. He uses WD40 for different things and didn't think cooking oil would hurt anything.
