The Ultimate Accountability Challenge (UAC) provides both weight losers and maintainers with incredible accountability partners AND an emphasis on life-changing healthy basic habits.
This is not the flash-in-the-pan 'biggest anything" short-term challenge. This is the real deal!! We are a non-commercial volunteer group with a proven track record of significant team member success.
We enthusiastically welcome our returning veterans and newcomers too!
The accountability is a daily report of:
1)More than 20 minutes of daily exercise;
2) Tracking the caloric intake of both food and beverage;
3) Consuming no more than your chosen limit of daily calories
4)Daily or every third day reporting of your fulfillment of the above.
A non-fulfillment of any of the above equals a Pass Day. There are 3 Pass Days allowed per month
Those who end the month with less than 4 Pass days are celebrated in the monthly Winner's Circle Qualification!!

Thank you so much, @RangerRickL, for keeping this challenge going. I have been here since I started my journey and I know without a doubt that without this challenge keeping me accountable to logging, exercising, and staying under my calorie count I would not have lost the 36 pounds or still be focused on my weight.
This group has the most amazing, encouraging, enthusiastic people I've ever had the privilege to know. We laugh with each other, sympathize with each other, and are just there for each other in this journey to better health.
I'm looking forward to another great month with UAC and hope you'll join us. It's so doable and your future self will thank you!!7 -
Hi, I’m Maddie,
I began my weight loss journey 1/1/16 at 228.3 lbs.
In March 2018, I joined UAC at 180.8
Three months ago, April 25, 2019, I hit my Maintenance Weight of 153.
UAC was immensely helpful in helping me lose those final 27-28lbs & is crucial to my success in maintaining.
I was in the Winner’s Circle my first 11 months, and about half of the months since then.
I know I would not have gotten to 153 pounds without UAC. Period. Being 75 pounds lighter with the habits to sustain monthly average weights under 155lbs from Dec ‘18-June’19 is a Dream Come True after over 40 years weighing over 215lbs.
I think of UAC like the old TV show, “Cheers”:
Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you got
Taking a break from all your worries
It sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You want to be where you can see
The troubles are all the same
You want to be where everybody knows your name
You want to go where people know
The people are all the same
You want to go where everybody knows your name

Hi there,I started my MFP journey.Jan 2017.I was 313.4. Diabetic and high blood pressure. I'm now 234.6. My blood pressure is normal,I'm a controlled diabetic. No meds now. I can physically do more. I've been with this group for 14 months. I really enjoy the support, accountability, encouraging words, and interaction with others. I've not met my weight loss goal yet.But I know I can and will.5

Hi, I'm Carol. I've been at an acceptable BMI maintenance range for several years, but still desire the support of friends for accountability. There is no room in maintenance for complacency. August will be my 21st month of participating in the UAC challenge with the goal being to live a healthy life. Monitoring calories, logging, and exercise are the key components of this challenge, yielding success when coupled with individual determination to stay on track. UAC is my inspiration for continued diligence even if I won't make the coveted Winner's Circle in a given month.
I would emphasize that UAC does not control what or how much we eat. It also does not dictate what you choose for exercise activity. We do benefit, sometimes, from the ideas or suggestions of others on this forum. UAC leaves you in control of your life, quite simply, because no one can do it for you. BUT...and this is a BIG BUT...we are all here for you and cheering you on to success. It should be a wonderful feeling to know you don't have to do this alone.
Please join us on this journey to good health. There is no time like the present, and we are better together!5 -
Thank you, @stella7x7; @w8goal4life; @MadisonMolly2017 ; and @BonnieHosk85
I am grateful to all of you and I am especially touched by Maddie's statement that the UAC is like Cheers.
That is one of the reasons that we only promote the UAC once per month. It's better to keep the team not-so-large that members get lost or ignored.
Join us for August. See the link in the first post above.4 -
This is an amazing group. Thie accountability challenge helps to keep you honest about your food consumption not only as far as the group goes but to yourself. The other awesome part is it gets you in the habit of exercise. Once you get in the habit of daily exercise it becomes second nature. The encouragement you receive is priceless because it is from sincere folks that are in the same boat you are in.
What have you got to lose execpt pounds and inches. You mighy just gain energy and confidence from your new habits/way of life.3 -
I'm relatively a newbie to UAC, having joined mid May, 2019. Although I joined too late for the winner's circle that month, I knew I needed to start being accountable immediately! My posts are usually the bare minimum, but I'm often inspired by other members' posts. My hope is to eventually get off of blood pressure medicine by losing weight. UAC motivates me to get in some exercise EVERY day, as well as watching my food intake. This accountability group is great!2

Amazing group, very supportive, you can write as much as you like or just post the stats - you will be treated the same, no weigh ins, no one is ridiculed if they fall off or don't make it to the much coveted winner's circle, this really has become a way of life for me, I am fitter, healthier and slimmer! Come and join us, this does work!5

I only found UAC for July and have really enjoyed my first month! I've also found being on plan and logging everyday is damn tough! But, i know with the challenge and its members I will get there! Even though I'm up to 9 pass days, I know that the act of acknowledging that and logging and accepting the days I haven't been successful has been a really useful tool and thank Rick and the challenge for that!5

Best group on MFP and only one worth joining in my opinion!6

I’m new to this challenge as of July 1st and I have to say it’s a great group. If you’re looking for a great group of people and a motivating challenge then the UAC is for you.4

I joined this group May 1st and by the end of June lost 14 of 15lbs I had regained during some stressful times. I aimed for maintenance in July for a variety of reasons and am looking to lose a little more in August again. UAC helped me lose, and has been helping me in what has felt like the trickier territory of maintaining.
I already loved MFP but this group takes the experience up a notch. I love that the rules promote daily activity, for me its key to feeling good and staying on track. That activity can be as easy or as difficult as you wish.
Love the positive spirit here. I get a strong feeling of community as well as gentle accountability.2 -
I've been part of the UAC since February, and this month will be the first where I didn't make it to the Winners' Circle: a vacation at the beginning of the month and last week did me in. But I'll be back at it next month and working on continuing those healthy habits and hearing great advice from other UAC members. The group is awesome and supportive.3
