So basically going to start doing a few workouts at home. However, I don't exactly know the right type of ones to do. Also, I'm not too certain on what I can eat and what I can't. I don't feel comfortable enough to go to a gym at this time. Some help me be great. Thanks!

There are a lot of videos on YouTube. Do what you think you would like. Walking is good too.
As far as weight loss goes, eat what you like and stay at a calorie deficit. No food is bad, but nutrition is important for health, so keep that in mind.
A calorie deficit is all you need for weight loss. Exercise is important for overall health and will give you more calories to consume.1 -
Agree with the above. YouTube has lots of beginner workouts that don’t require any equipment. And walking is a great way to start moving more. I want to add that exercise is overrated as a weight loss strategy but it makes a great compliment to WL because it demonstrates the benefits of incrementalism. Exercise is also very good for our brains. And beware the overly aggressive ramp up. You don’t need to start training for a marathon next month.
Use the MFP calculator to figure out the calorie target to lose 1 lb per week. Start a food diary, get a food scale, try to make a plan to hit your number for a week. No matter what happens, log everything into your food diary. Keeping your food diary is the key to controlling the process. Don’t go to pieces if you struggle. There’s a significant calorie counting learning curve. Once you have control of the process you can adjust the numbers if you want to.
You’ll likely find that you have a better chance of sticking with your plan trying to incorporate food that you actually like. You may be able to modify some of your favorites to make them more plan friendly. Others you can include with limited portions. If you have a significant amount to lose, take a long term view. Get away from the idea that any of this can be done in a hurry. There’s no point in trying to sprint to your goal weight. There is no finish line.1 -
Thankyou to both of you! It means a lot.0
