nope they are all there to make money, you don't need to clean your colon to lose weight... simply eat healthy .....excercise .....drink your water... then the weight will stay off and you'll have a clean colon at no cost as well:laugh:
Hey good deal...you've already lost 16 lbs!:drinker: :flowerforyou:
all that WITHOUT a colon cleanse scam!0 -

There is no such thing as a quick fix-- If you can't go to the bathroom then you need to see a dr but if your pipes are working correctly then like the saying goes "if it isn't broke don't fix it"
You can easily cleanse your system by having the reccomended amount of fiber daily which is 25 grams per day- If you aren't taking that in then you should slowly increase your fiber- If you try to overload on your fiber in 1 day it will backfire and you won't be able to go but you will have horrible gas:sick: --0 -

+1
I actually just watched a piece on CBC about this about a week ago. They actually did a "blind test" with 3 people...they gave 2 of them a colon cleanser and 1 regular fibre powder for 30 days.
The 2 people on the alleged colon cleanser lost nothing. The person on fibre lost 2 pounds - which they attributed to normal weight fluctuations.
In other words, the colon cleanse is crap...no pun intended (or perhaps it was? Ha ha!)

Well they do make a good point, your body really is full of toxins from years of eating processed stuff, drinking from cans, all the stuff we do now that people didn't way back when...and I've heard that at any point in time there's about 10 lbs of poo in your system (didn't hear that from the commercials tho) And all that crap will back up your system and definitely bloat you I personally think it's a great idea to cleanse your system, though you don't need to blow 40 dollars on it. Apple cider vinegar and garlic are great for cleansing your body, they both come in tablets and are cheap. Yes, you can lose weight with the colon cleanser, though it's not meant for that. Weight loss still is best with good eating and excercise. I am using the one that they are raging about on tv and I really have noticed in a difference in how I feel-much more energized and better as a whole! If you are going to try it make sure to check the ingredients to make sure they didn't put anything crazy in it-look up any ingredient you're unsure of.0

By eating the recommended daily amount of fiber (25g+ for women) from various fruits, veggies, and whole grains you are cleansing your colon. Your body has natural ways of cleansing its colon itself and it does not need any money making gimmicks to do so. Your liver and kidney work together to cleanse your body of toxins and excrete unnecessary waste from your body. By eating nutritiously, your body is self cleansing the colon itself.0

This is untrue.
Any time there is food in your intestines, they are contracting, mixing the food and pushing it toward your rectum. If you eat 10 lbs of food, there will be 10 lbs of food in your intestines, but it'll be on its way out. There's no reason to expedite the transit--all you do is lose out on nutrient absorption.
Toxins are filtered in the liver and kidneys, not the intestines. Your body produces its own toxins through all biological processes--if it couldn't remove them, humans wouldn't have lasted very long.0 -

Yea, I'm thinking I should write a big thread about this. Then it'd just be bumpable and available. But I feel like I've written a lot about this pretty frequently. Maybe I should just look for that so I don't have to re-write everything LOL0 -

I also was curious about this once and since I was prego, my husband took the plunge for me. The stuff he ordered was high quality and very pricey. After three months of it, two or three times a day, he didn't seem to lose any weight. He also is a Surgery Tech and assured me that most people's colons are pretty clean...he's seen a lot of them!!0

Also as a side note, as far as toxins go... Our bodies are designed to release toxins on their own in various ways. That's what drinking lots of water is good for. Also why you don't want to lose weight to fast. The toxins are released into the body from the fat and it can be overwhelming for your for the kidneys and liver (and as a nursing mom into our milk, too) not good. That's why we up the water and try not to eat much processed stuff. Tell you what, broccolli and cauliflower are supposed to be great at cleaning out your insides, try that it's much cheaper.0

Hm, I wonder what it's like to be on the other end of the laproscope lol...I mean, the person getting scoped is usually asleep. But the people on the other end are on the business end. :laugh:0 -
