Hi, Im new here. I have never join anything for weight lose before. At one point in my life I was 235 pounds. Over the last 2 1/2 year I have gone down to 190. I have done everything from not eating to pills. The last 15 pounds I lost after joining a gym in April. I lost weight right away but its stopped and Im to the point of giving up. I also have Hypothyroidism. In the past after losing about 10 pounds my weight loss would stop and no matter what I did nothing would happened. Then I would see the Doctor for something and she would check my thyroid level. Everytime my thyroid level would be far to low and she would up my meds. Then after a time I would start a diet again and I would lose and stop, then go get tesed and my level would be low and my meds ups. That is how I have lost the 45 pounds. After losing the last 15 and stoping I got my levels checked and she said they were fine. So Im at a loss on what to do. I would love advice from all of you if you think you can help. My calorie in take are all over the charts. Some days it is less than 1000, some days 1400. I work two jobs, sometime in the same day. So on days like that I grab and go. I know you should eat 5 or 6 small meals a day but there are days that I have make myself eat. Im just not hungry. When it comes to the gym for the most part I do the tread mill. I have added some weights just recently. I hoping this will help. Have agreat day to all. Thanks

    Hi,
you must eat regular and that is the main problem.
Try to make your food supplies for a week, put them in Tupperware or something so you can carry them with you wherever you go.

Never forget to ear fruit and vegetables, and everything should be fine.

    :))

Hello, I too have hypothyroidism….it was diagnosed in my early 30’s. I had no problem with the weight issue until I hit my mid 40’s and between my metabolisms naturally slowing down and the thyroid problem I started putting on some extra pounds and no matter what I did it would not come off. I am also very busy with work and family and my eating habits were not that great…eating on the go, skipping meals all together and then becoming so hungry I would binge when I get home from work Since I have been on this site and tracking everything I eat I have learned to do portion control and make sure I am eating enough healthy foods to fuel my active lifestyle. This has been an eye opening experience for me and with the support of my MFP friends and getting ideas from their food diaries I have been able to lose some of the weight and I know I will reach my goal. Feel free to add me as a friend …..I would be happy to give you support to reach your goal.

It's great that you joined. There is lots of help on here. I've only been part of this community for about two weeks though I joined in July. Good luck and hope to see you around.

I love fruit and veg but they dont love me. I have ulcers. Two bites of pinapple (something I love) and I pay for it a few hours later. I used to take meds for my ulcers but the side effects were to much. If I limit or dont eat some food that dont work me, I dont have to take any meds. Apple, stawberries, bananas are what I mostly eat for fruit (they have less acid in them). I can eat somes vegs but again in limits. Thanks for make me feel at home.
