Hello all.
Joined as I need to start focusing on my health. My partner was diagnosed with lung cancer in Feb. He passed away two weeks ago and if I don't start looking after myself my kids will suffer...
First day back at work today and it was horrid..
Haven't managed to get over 1000 calories today but iv just felt to miserable and stressed.
It's OK... I get to go to bed now and try again tomorrow.

Have you been undereating all along or did you change the foods you are eating and so struggled to eat enough?

Some days I eat loads of junk... Others I struggle to eat... Really depends on my mood, the day, my ability to just put one foot in front of the other....
Today was tough, going back to work has made me feel sick and stressed..

You have a lot to deal with right now.

Consider doing menu planning and meal prep on the weekends so that you aren't making so many individual decisions during the week. You just follow the plan you have already laid out. I know it sounds a bit overwhelming to think that far ahead when you are barely putting one foot in front of the other, but if you can push yourself to do it, it will make workdays so much simpler.

Hello! I’m so sorry about the loss of your partner. You should feel proud of yourself for trying to take the initiative to get healthy after going through such a heartbreaking time. Don’t beat yourself up too much when you have a rough day. Everything is one day at a time, work and diet included. If you struggle with eating one day, you can always get back up tomorrow and try again. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey of healing and better health. <3

I lost my son in May. I have been struggling since, usually eating as comfort, some days I just say the hell with it. It gets better with time, but it still hurts. Take care of yourself, your kids need you.

So sorry for your loss. Take it one day at a time and I agree with the meal prepping on your day off. I meal plan for a few days ahead and it helps to have stuff readily available in the fridge like boiled eggs, chopped salad fixings, ie. lettuce shredded, carrots sliced, etc. baked chicken breasts in the oven and then i can grab what i want a make a healthy meal.
