    If you use it consistently, accurately and honestly, it can be an excellent tool for weightloss.

    It isn't magic, though.

    That’s completely up to you. You have to be willing to be honest about your calories in amd your calories out. You have to be willing to put in the work. You have to be ok with slow weeks and plateaus. It is a tool, not a program or a magic wand. You get out what you put in.

    Tl;dr: it’s all up to you.

    For me it did. Lost 116 lbs and are maintaining for 3 and a half year now

    Do the things outlined in this thread, and sure! Be aware, if you only have 7 pounds to lose (per your username) you're going to have to be super accurate AND patient.

    You get out of mfp what you're willing to put into it. It can change the way you think about food, exercise and a healthier lifestyle.

    I lost most my weight by logging everything by hand in a notebook. I am sure I was not the most accurate but it still worked for me...that being said, MFP is a great tool and glad I finally decided to use it. makes everything so much easier . You have to be honest and consistent though, and not guesstimate ...get a food scale if you don't already have . life changer
