Tired After Exercising in Morning

I recently switched from exercising in the evening to the mornings.
I usually get a burst of energy for one or two hours, but then my energy levels drop throughout the day, and I get very sleepy. Is this normal?

I have been exercising in the early AM (5:00-ish) for years. I have noticed the same things as you - I am really, really, REALLY energetic until about 1:00pm, then I take a nosedive. When I was working - I adjusted my schedule (I was self-employed, so it was easy to do) to take a "break" in the early afternoon for about an hour and chill.
Now I am retired, so when I feel that crash coming on, I just take a nap. Then I'm good to go for the rest of the day...
I don't know if my post helps you - but I just wanted you to know someone else out here experiences the same thing. I just attribute it to getting up early (around 4:00), so that by noon I have already been up for 8 hours, worked out, showered, had breakfast, worked, cleaned, ran errands etc. That's a lot to squeeze in. It's not really at all surprising that there is an afternoon crash. I think I fly through a lot of stuff when I'm still zipping from the workout...kind of make hay while the sun shines sort of thing.
I am willing to accept this downside as I LOVE getting up early and getting my workout out of the way for the day. I guess everything is a trade-off.... **sigh**

It does help. I use to work out in the evening. Unfortunately, I found I had difficulty sleeping afterwards.
I want to exercise in the morning to get it out of the way. I just wish I didn't feel so tired though.0 -
I am like this especially if i had a really hard workout. Fortunately I work from home so I can take a quick 30 min nap during my lunch break.
Try drinking some coffee. That usually helps me if I can't get in a nap.0
