Why do I have a gain???

Ok I have been tracking my food for 5 weeks now. The first 4 I lost about 2 lbs each week. Now I officially weigh in tomorrow and I am pretty sure I will not have lost any or may have a gain! WTH? I have stuck to my plan faithfully and have exercised every night and some nights more then others. So why now after 5 weeks does my body want to do this to me? Give me a gain... how come? If anyone has ANY insight on this please, please let me know!
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

Wait until your official weigh in tomorrow before you start to panic.0

wait a sec, you're freaking out and you haven't even weighed in? Calm down.
If you did gain, then you probably need to eat more. your body's metabolism is slowing down and storing fat.0 -
if you are working out every night you could have gained muscle....muscle weighs more than fat.0

Do you feel like opening your food diary? Can't say much 'til we can see it.0

I just passed my 8 week mark and I know the feeling. If I eat too few calorie, do a strength training workout (weights mainly), or don't drink enough water I gain. I couldn't tell you why but it is what it is and I'm stuck with it. Play with your calories, play with your nutrients and your workouts...you'll find what works for you.0

Can't say much until you actually weigh yourself.0

I have the same question. :grumble:
I started MFP almost a month ago. I went from 180 to 173 in about two weeks. Then, I started my menstrual. During those horrible five days, I gained about five or six pounds; fluctuated from 175 to 177. After my TOM, I went down to 174 and have since been fluctuating from 174 to 175.8 and back to 174.4.
Since then, I have yet to get back to 173, or to lose anything beyond that. I exercise everyday and careful not to go over my 1200 calories too. Why can I not lose weight??0 -
Thanks, but I am really afraid if I eat more I will really have a gain. I get my 1200 calories in every day and some days I do go over by a small amount. I think no matter what I need a day "break". Just eat something really good, not splurch but something like a couple of chocolate chips cookies and go over my calorie amount by several hundred, just to mix things up and then get back on track come Tuesday! I just feel like I have been doing so good and then this... just frustrates me is all... I needed to vent and I did! Thanks for listening!0

I think it sounds like you'll be just fine with this plan.0 -
I wanted to give you all an update. I DID HAVE A GAIN this week when I weighed in. Although it was a small gain it was still A GAIN! So I did some research and now going to start mixing things up a bit. Gonna throw in some lunges, jumping jacks and skipping in my daily walking routine. Gonna get some silly looks and smiles from those in the neighborhood but that is fine by me! I will be bringing a smile to their face! Also starting some weight lifting, toning tonight. Gonna start off small and go from there. Also adding more protein and will be buying some fish oil capsules to help quicken my metabolism. I hope all the extra work pays off when I hit the scales again!0
