I'm ok on my rest haveing 20-45 calories left but on my exercise day I'm just not hungry after eating 1200 calories. I know your supposed to eat your exercise calories but I'm just not hungry

  • If you aren't hungry, don't eat. If you don't have enough energy for your next workout, next time you know to munch it up.

Then maybe see what you could "up" in your existing meals? I've been having trouble meeting my calories (2100 calories some days) so I've found some things to throw into my usually healthier meals, like having some Ranch dressing with my carrots that I normally eat plain.

I'm also a fan of protein shakes. I don't usually feel like eating after I work out, but I like to stock up on protein soon after a workout, and it helps me meet my calories. Maybe consider that?

You CAN eat your exercise calories if you want, but you aren't necessarily supposed/required to. Don't eat if you aren't hungry.

You should not net less than 1200 calories per day. Have a spoonfull of peanut butter (if you like and and aren't allergic), there is a calorie boost for ya :)

Try and drink the extra calories then- protein shakes, milk, and orange juice all have quite a few calories and are great nutritionally.

I had the same problem, and nuts (cashews and peanuts) help me a lot. Only have to eat a real small amount to get loads of energy.

I 2nd the milk. If I find I'm still a bit over by the end of the day, I'll have a glass of whole milk (probably not the healthiest, but hey). 150 calories right there, and it's not exceptionally filling!

I have always said listen to your body. Sometimes, ok well alot of times I do not eat my 1200 cals a day but what the hay right! I am not starving. I don't feel hungry. I am not having fatigue moments. I am not passing out. I don't feel weird. If I am more hungry one day and I go over my 1200 then so be it. I have been eating this way for at least 6 months and I still lose weight. I have not hit any stalling point. I try to excercise daily and I do not worry about eating my calories back unless im just hungry.

If your cals (eaten minus worked out) are less than 1000/1200 you will end up in starvation mode. Not only will this make you plateau, eventually you will become ill. You need to either eat more or cut back on the exercise to make sure this doesn't happen. To state 'if you're not hungrey don't eat (as above) is very dangerous advice. I agree with the later post, and follow it myself, if you're not hungry and run the risk of starving inadvertently, eat some nuts.
  • If your body is telling you that you aren't hungry and you 'inadvertently' starve by listening to it, you've got some hellacious physiological issues.

    Come on...

If you;re eating under a 1000 calories and say you aren't hungry, on a regular basis, you need to see a doctor. Bear in mind that the average woman needs around 2000 calories a day, and man 2500. Fact. Trying to lose weight faster by straying under sensible limits is self-defeating and dangerous. We could debate this all night, but these aren't just my words - a very quick search of the boards/blogs will back this up,
