vitamin regimen and getting started.

So I’m having some fitness problems getting into the gym. I’m unhealthy. I eat well below my BMR so I should be losing weight but I’m not. I decided that I’m malnourished so I went to the store and bought:

Equate multi vitamins- for missing nutrients
Nature made biotin- for my hair skin and nails
Spring valley Collagen- for my joints
Spring valley fish oil- for my heart and brain

I’m hoping this is a good start.

Does anyone have any advice on taking vitamins while they’re in their weight loss journey? I am really hoping that I won’t have a bunch of loose skin at the end of the day because my brother didn’t. But I’m bigger than him. Soooo....

Help a girl out. If you have any advice, post!

Take vitamins if you like. Unless you overdo them, they’re unlikely to hurt and may help with overall health.

What they’re unlikely to do is help with your weight loss.

It is impossible for a person to eat below their BMR and not lose weight. The most likely culprit is logging errors. Do you use a food scale consistently, and remember to log drinks, cooking oils, dressings, fruit and veg?

I take supplements myself, but not for weight loss or to prevent loose skin.

I'm wondering if your calorie goal too low. How tall are you, how much do you have to lose before you reach your goal weight, and what is your weekly weight loss goal set to?

There are mistakes that people commonly make that cause them to not lose weight that we might be able to spot if you change your Diary Sharing settings to Public: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings

You cannot consistently eat below your BMR and fail to lose weight. As special as you may be, your body cannot violate the laws of thermodynamics.

Vitamins will not help with fat loss; only a calorie deficit (created by consuming fewer calories, or expending more calories, or some combination of the 2) can do that.
