I am 56 year old women, needing to lose 70 lbs, but I do not want to kill myself at the gym. Do you have a gym routine or recommendations for me?

Whatever you do start slow and easy. Alternate days to begin with.

You don’t give any idea of what your fitness level is now, or what your fitness goals are.

I started a 54 a complete couch potato that had never exercised and really didn’t want to.

Aquafit was a good first thing for me. It gave me cardio and working against the water was enough to stimulate my muscles at that time, and it wasn’t real sweaty.
I did it 3x60 a week on alternate days.

Once into it I added 3 days walking, training for a 10km race and a trip to Europe.

Since then I have done all kinds of things that have improved my allover fitness level and helped with bone and muscle retention.

You could start with alternating walking on the treadmill, or rowing machine etc, then alternating it with a strength routine that fits your abilities and goals.

You could also consult with a PT, but make sure you know what you want to achieve first.

    Cheers, h.

Are you planning to resistant train?

I can give you my novice template if you are interested in a base strength program that is designed to regulate the stress dosed.
